Lore Dump: the Original Magic Users
Though there’s a lot of negative history surrounding the dragons, not many people will argue that they were the original magic users. A lot of human historians have realized that because the dragons were an embodiment of magic, they allowed the land to flourish with other magical beings. Of course, when the humans took over there was a lot of exploitation that took place when something involved magic. As far back as the age of dragons, there’s no natural born human with innate magical ability. For them to obtain magic, it must be created or taken from others.
As the centuries have gone by, there are some humans that wish to preserve what little magical life is left in Foxbridge. With the dragons being gone, there’s no strong ties of magic for other creatures to truly prosper. They will all die out eventually, which is why tribes like the Drakonovs are vital to the survival of these creatures. Their worship of the dragons over the past two centuries has brought a lot of peace and even kept some magical beings from going extinct.
One of these beings in particular was the faeries. Faeries used to coexist with the dragon’s and even had their own civilizations but once the dragons were defeated in the war, faeries were either captured or killed. Those that were left, took refuge in Thornberry Woods until they were discovered by a tribe of peaceful humans wishing to establish alliance with the faery folk. Now most of the eastern tribes live in harmony with the faeries and some gifted humans have the ability to unlock the magic in their own way.
